Job Overview
Mediclinic Southern Africa is seeking a qualified and competent Radiographer to join its Kroonstad Radiology Practice.
The successful candidate will be responsible for operating radiology equipment, including X-ray, fluoroscopy, theatre screening and CT scanning equipment, to produce high-quality diagnostic images that assist medical professionals in diagnosing and treating patients.
The role requires strong technical knowledge, attention to detail and a commitment to radiation protection, quality standards and patient safety.
Key Responsibilities
The successful candidate will be responsible for:
- Operating radiology equipment to produce high-quality diagnostic images.
- Assisting the Radiologist with medical procedures.
- Applying radiation protection measures in accordance with the ALARA Principle to minimise radiation exposure to patients, staff and others.
- Maintaining accurate and comprehensive records of examinations performed.
- Identifying, preventing and managing risks to ensure patient safety.
- Conducting quality control tests in accordance with SAHPRA regulations.
- Assisting with stock control and ordering of consumables for the relevant radiology modalities.
- Assisting with billing processes and the correct use of procedural and ICD-10 codes.
Requirements and Qualifications
Essential Education:
Applicants must have one of the following qualifications:
- National Diploma in Radiography.
- BTech in Radiography.
- Bachelor’s degree in Diagnostic Radiography (BRad).
Essential Experience:
- Must have completed Community Service in the relevant field of work.
- Must demonstrate the required capability to perform the duties of the position.
Desired Experience:
- At least 2 years’ experience in private practice is advantageous.
Required Skills and Knowledge
Candidates should have knowledge and understanding of:
- SAHPRA regulations.
- Computer literacy, particularly Microsoft Office.
- The ALARA Principle and radiation protection.
- Procedural and ICD-10 codes.
