Minimum Requirements
To qualify for this position, you must meet the following requirements:
Educational Qualification: Matric and a Bachelor of Social Work degree that allows for professional registration with the South African Council for Social Service Professions (SACSSP).
Professional Registration: Must be currently registered with SACSSP.
Driver’s License: A valid driver’s license is required.
Experience:
- Grade 1: No experience is required after registration with SACSSP.
- Grade 2: Minimum of 10 years’ experience after SACSSP registration.
- Grade 3: Minimum of 20 years’ experience after SACSSP registration.
- Grade 4: Minimum of 30 years’ experience after SACSSP registration.

Key Responsibilities and Duties
As a social worker in the Free State Department of Health, you will be responsible for:
- Rendering social work services
- Providing care, support, prevention, and development services to vulnerable individuals, groups, families, and communities.
- Implementing relevant social work programs to enhance social well-being.
- Supporting Social Auxiliary Workers and Other Role Players
- Assisting and guiding social auxiliary workers, volunteers, and other key role players.
- Staying Updated with Developments in the Social Work Field
