     Purpose of the Role

    To provide administrative, clerical, and secretarial support to the Director, ensuring smooth day-to-day office operations and efficient support services within the Support Services unit.

     Key Duties and Responsibilities

    Secretarial & Reception Support

    • Provide full secretarial support to the Director
    • Manage reception duties, including calls and visitor handling
    • Schedule meetings and manage the Director’s diary

    Administrative Support

    • Perform general clerical duties (filing, typing, correspondence)
    • Prepare documents, reports, and meeting materials
    • Maintain organised office records and systems

    Policy & Compliance Awareness

    • Stay updated on relevant policies and procedures
    • Apply knowledge of:
      • Public Finance Management Act (PFMA)
      • Public Service Regulations
    • Ensure administrative work complies with government prescripts

    Supply Chain Support

    • Assist with basic Supply Chain Management (SCM) functions
    • Support procurement-related administrative processes

     Minimum Requirements

    • Grade 12 (Matric) Certificate
    • Typing experience
    • Relevant administrative experience in the Public Service (advantage)
    • Computer literacy

     Required Knowledge

    • Public Service Regulations
    • PFMA (Public Finance Management Act)
    • Basic government administrative procedures
    • Office systems and filing management
    • Supply chain support processes

     Salary

    • R228 321 per annum (Basic Salary – Level 05)
