Scope of Works:

The service provider will be responsible for the refurbishment and repair of wastewater treatment infrastructure as well as the execution of additional civil works in Smithfield. The project includes:

• Refurbishment and repair of the Wastewater Treatment Works (WWTW) at Zastron/Matlakeng

• Construction of a 1 km paved access road with stormwater drainage (Smithfield – Phase 2)

• Construction of 482 toilets in Smithfield

All work must adhere to municipal standards and comply with environmental and safety regulations.

CIDB Grading Required:

• Minimum 3 CE

• 2 CE PE may qualify depending on scope allocation (see tender documents)

Contract Duration:

As per project plan outlined in the tender documents (details to be confirmed in project timelines)

Evaluation Criteria:

Minimum Submission Requirements:

Technical Requirements:

• Experience in wastewater infrastructure refurbishment

• Civil engineering capacity for:

  • Toilet installation and sanitation infrastructure

• Adherence to SANS and environmental compliance standards

• Compliance with health, safety, and environmental laws

Required Skills and Experience:

• Proven track record in:

  • Refurbishment of Wastewater Treatment Works

  • Civil works (roads, drainage, sanitation)

• Competent technical staff and site managers

• Ability to deliver under tight timelines and multi-site coordination

• Strong project management and reporting skills
