    Job Overview

    The Senior Advisor Procurement (G15) provides specialised procurement services to support Eskom’s sourcing and procurement strategy within the Central East Cluster. This role involves managing procurement processes, implementing best practices, and ensuring compliance across assigned portfolios (commodities and/or capital infrastructure). The position requires strong commercial and technical procurement expertise, strategic thinking, and the ability to influence and engage with stakeholders at senior levels.

    Purpose of the Role

    To source and procure goods and services in line with Eskom’s procurement strategy, policies, standards, and processes, while ensuring efficiency, compliance, and value for money across assigned commodity portfolios.

    Key Responsibilities

    Strategic Procurement

    • Develop and implement sourcing/procurement strategies for assigned portfolios.

    • Conduct spend analysis and strategic sourcing initiatives.

    • Perform industry and market analysis to inform procurement decisions.

    • Manage commodity and supplier profiling and strategic supplier relationship management.

    Operational Excellence

    • Implement procurement best practices and efficient procurement processes.

    • Ensure operational compliance and risk management across procurement activities.

    • Manage integrated portfolio processes and ensure alignment between functions.

    Contract & Supplier Management

    • Support contract management, including NEC and FIDIC contract knowledge.

    • Implement negotiation strategies and manage supplier performance.

    • Apply Total Cost of Ownership (TCO) analysis to procurement decisions.

    Leadership & Development

    • Provide training, coaching, and mentoring to procurement staff.

    • Drive cross-functional cooperation and stakeholder engagement.

    Minimum Requirements

    Qualifications

    • B Degree / BTech in Procurement, Law, Commerce (NQF7 with 360 credits)

    Experience

    • Minimum 5 years’ experience in sourcing/procurement or technical procurement environment.
