    Minimum Requirements:

     Academic Qualifications:

    • PhD (NQF Level 10) in:

      • Computer Science

      • Data Science

      • Computer Engineering Science

      • Electrical Engineering
        (with a research focus on Computer Science or closely related field)
        Permanent appointment

    OR

    • Master’s Degree (NQF Level 9) in any of the above fields
      5-year contract (must obtain PhD within that time to be considered for permanent post)

     Additional Requirements:

    • Experience teaching first-year programming modules, particularly C# in engineering contexts

    • Conference presentations (oral or poster)

    • Evidence of publishable research output (e.g., manuscripts)

    • Good academic record (attach transcript)

    Recommendations (Advantageous):

    • Specialization in:

      • Computer Engineering Sciences

      • Software Engineering

      • Software Development

    Key Responsibilities:

    • Teach undergraduate and postgraduate modules in:

      • Computer Science

      • Information Systems

      • Software Engineering

      • Computer Engineering Science

    • Supervise honours and co-supervise master’s students

    • Conduct research in one or more of the department’s focus areas:

      • Business Intelligence & Text Mining

      • Computer Science Education

      • Eye-Tracking Applications

      • HCI & Extended Reality

      • Digital Inclusion & Community Engagement

    • Publish in accredited peer-reviewed journals

    • Assist with curriculum development

    • Participate in community engagement initiatives
