Job Overview:
The HR Consultant will serve as the primary point of contact for HR-related services for both management and staff. This role involves the implementation and monitoring of HR policies, providing operational HR support, and ensuring compliance with internal and external HR legislation and standards.
Key Responsibilities:

Implement and monitor HR policies and procedures to ensure alignment with university requirements and relevant labour legislation.

Act as an HR contact point for management and employees within a specific sector or department.

Deliver general HR support services, including recruitment, onboarding, employee relations, and performance management.

Provide guidance on labour laws, organisational policies, and HR best practices.

Ensure proper HR recordkeeping and use of HR information systems.

Perform general administrative duties to support the HR department.
Minimum Requirements:

Three-year qualification in Human Resources or Industrial Psychology.

Minimum of 3 years’ experience in a generalist HR environment.

Working knowledge of HR information systems and HR administration processes.

Understanding of South African labour legislation and regulatory frameworks.

Registration with SABPP (South African Board for People Practices).
Preferred / Desired Experience:

Postgraduate qualification in Human Resources or related field.

Minimum of 5 years’ experience in a generalist HR environment.

Strong understanding of labour legislation and HR compliance.

Effective communication and interpersonal skills.

High level of confidentiality and professionalism.

Proficient in HR information systems and Microsoft Office Suite.
