     Key Responsibilities

    • Teach undergraduate and postgraduate modules:

      • Project Management

      • Monitoring and Evaluation

      • Public Administration

    • Academic administration of learning, teaching, research, and assessments

    • Curriculum development at department and faculty level

    • Supervise Honours, Master’s, and PhD students

    • Conduct and publish peer-reviewed research in accredited journals

    • Deliver research aligned to the faculty’s strategic goals

    • Participate in conferences and departmental/faculty research projects

    • Serve on academic/research committees

    • Build strong partnerships with research entities, civil society, government, and professional bodies

     Inherent Requirements

    Lecturer

    • PhD in Public Administration and Management (NQF 10)
      OR

    • Master’s in Public Administration and Management (NQF 9)
      (5-year contract, must complete PhD to be converted to permanent)

    • Experience teaching relevant modules at undergrad/postgrad level

    • Evidence of conference presentations

    • Research outputs with potential for publication

    • Good academic record

    Senior Lecturer

    • PhD in Public Administration and Management (NQF 10)

    • National scholarly recognition

    • NRF rating or demonstrable potential for it

    • Supervision experience (Honours & Master’s)

    • Conference presentation experience

    • Publications in accredited journals

    • Active participation in national/international scholarly societies

    Associate Professor

    • PhD in Public Administration and Management (NQF 10)

    • External examiner experience

    • National and international recognition for research leadership

    • NRF C3 rating or equivalent

    • Experience supervising Master’s and Doctoral students to graduation

    • High-quality publications (national/international)

    • Editorial board membership

    • Active member of scholarly society or research body

     Recommendations (Advantageous):

    • Publications in national accredited journals

    • Membership or registration with a professional body

    • Departmental leadership or management experience (Associate Prof.)

    • In-depth understanding of:

      • South African Public Administration and Management

      • Public sector environment

      • Work experience in SA public sector
