Job Purpose
The Code 14 Horse and Trailer Driver is responsible for operating heavy-duty vehicles safely and efficiently to transport materials, equipment, and personnel in support of site operations. The role ensures compliance with traffic regulations, company safety policies, and operational schedules to maintain timely and reliable delivery performance.
Key Responsibilities

Operate Code 14 (EC) vehicles, including trucks and tipper vehicles, to transport materials, plant equipment, and supplies to and from assigned locations.

Conduct daily pre-trip and post-trip inspections to ensure vehicle roadworthiness and report any faults or maintenance needs promptly.

Comply with all road traffic laws, occupational health and safety regulations, and company transport procedures.

Safely load and offload materials using proper handling equipment and coordinate with site teams.

Maintain accurate trip logs, delivery documentation, and fuel usage records.

Support site setup and assist in logistics operations as required by supervisors.

Follow designated routes and schedules to ensure on-time deliveries and efficient service.

Perform basic vehicle maintenance checks (oil, water, tyres, brakes, etc.).

Represent the company professionally by upholding high standards of safety, teamwork, and customer service both on and off-site.
Minimum Requirements

Grade 10 or equivalent qualification

Valid Code 14 (EC) Driver’s Licence with a valid PrDP (Professional Driving Permit)

Minimum of 5 years’ experience as a Code 14 Driver within the logistics or transport industry

Clean criminal record (essential)

Ability to read and follow delivery schedules, maps, and work instructions accurately
