Role Purpose
The Client Portfolio Executive is responsible for providing strategic oversight and operational management of a portfolio of high-value commercial clients. The role focuses on driving sustainable growth, deepening client relationships, and maximising revenue opportunities through tailored banking solutions, proactive engagement, and strong collaboration across internal teams, while ensuring compliance with regulatory and credit governance standards.
Key Responsibilities

Manage and grow a portfolio of large commercial clients with complex banking needs

Drive customer service delivery in line with predefined standards and operational objectives

Grow the customer base by managing existing clients, generating new leads, and expanding active accounts

Develop and manage key internal and external stakeholder relationships

Define and execute sales strategies aligned with strategic business objectives

Set tactical goals and optimise the use of people, finances, and technology to achieve targets

Prepare and present complex credit applications in line with FNB Credit Policy

Ensure compliance with legislative, audit, and internal governance requirements

Compile performance and portfolio reports to guide informed business decisions

Continuously assess portfolio performance and personal development needs

Execute line management responsibilities, fostering a high-performance, growth-oriented team culture
Minimum Qualifications & Experience
-
3–5 years’ experience in Commercial Banking in a similar role
-
Bachelor of Commerce (BCom) or equivalent relevant degree
-
Appropriate postgraduate qualification (advantageous)

Proven experience in the preparation and/or assessment of complex credit applications
-
RE qualification (required)

Experience dealing with complex client structures and queries

Must not be an unrehabilitated insolvent
