Introduction
Shift Pursuit is seeking a Senior Auditor to join their client’s audit team in Bloemfontein.
The successful candidate will lead audit engagements from planning to completion, review the work of junior staff, and ensure compliance with auditing and accounting standards.
This role is ideal for an experienced audit professional with strong technical expertise, leadership ability, and a passion for delivering high-quality audit results while maintaining strong client relationships.
Key Responsibilities
Lead and manage audit engagements from planning through completion in accordance with ISA and firm methodology.
Assess internal controls, identify risks, and recommend improvements.
Review and analyse financial statements for accuracy and compliance with IFRS/GAAP.
Supervise, mentor, and review the work of junior auditors.
Perform substantive testing and analytical review procedures.
Prepare audit reports, findings, and recommendations for client presentations.
Liaise directly with clients to obtain evidence and discuss audit outcomes.
Monitor budgets and deadlines to ensure efficient engagement delivery.
Collaborate with managers/partners to identify new opportunities and strengthen relationships.
Stay updated on changes in auditing and accounting standards.
Required Qualifications & Experience
Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Auditing, or Finance
(Honours or postgraduate qualification advantageous)Completed or nearly completed SAICA/SAIPA articles
3–5 years’ auditing experience across diverse industries
Strong knowledge of IFRS, ISA, and applicable legislation
Excellent analytical, problem-solving, and critical thinking skills
Strong client communication and relationship management abilities
Proficiency in CaseWare, Excel, and accounting/audit software (e.g., Pastel, Draftworx, SAGE)
High attention to detail and professional conduct
Ability to manage multiple audits and lead a team
Driver’s licence and own transport advantageous
Afrikaans proficiency is an added advantage
