The Part-Time Lecturer in Sesotho is responsible for delivering high-quality teaching and learning, supporting students academically, and contributing to the development of knowledge in the discipline. The role includes classroom teaching (online or in-person), student consultations, assessment marking, and providing interventions for at-risk students.
Purpose of the Role
To educate and support students in Sesotho language and literature, ensuring effective learning outcomes, adherence to higher education standards, and provision of holistic academic support.
Key Responsibilities
Deliver course content in classroom or online environments.
Conduct student consultations and provide academic guidance.
Mark assessments and provide constructive feedback.
Analyse results at a modular level and identify areas for student support.
Implement interventions for at-risk students to improve performance.
Contribute to academic research and development within the discipline.
Provide support to the Academic department as required.
Minimum Requirements
Qualification: BEd Honours degree, specialising in Sesotho
Experience: 1–3 years lecturing experience and/or industry-specific experience
Understanding of South African Further Education and Higher Education frameworks
Knowledge of teaching-learning theory, assessment methods, and interventions
Familiarity with digital academic platforms
