Tender Description
Airports Company South Africa SOC Ltd is inviting suitably qualified civil engineering contractors to provide stormwater, road and parking maintenance services at Bram Fischer International Airport in Bloemfontein.
The appointed service provider will be responsible for maintaining critical infrastructure to ensure the airport’s roads, parking areas and stormwater systems remain safe, functional and in good condition.
Because the work will take place within an operational airport environment, the contractor must comply with applicable safety, security, environmental and aviation requirements while ensuring minimal disruption to airport operations.
Scope of Work
Stormwater Maintenance
The work includes:
- Inspection of stormwater infrastructure.
- Clearing and cleaning drainage channels.
- Maintenance of culverts and gullies.
- Repair and maintenance of associated pipework.
- Ensuring adequate water runoff and preventing waterlogging.
- Addressing defects that could affect drainage performance.
Road Maintenance
The contractor will undertake maintenance of internal and access roads, including:
- Pothole repairs.
- Road surface rehabilitation.
- Crack sealing.
- Line marking.
- Signage maintenance.
- Verge vegetation control.
- General road maintenance and repairs.
Parking Maintenance
The scope includes:
- Maintenance of parking-area pavements.
- Parking bay demarcation.
- Support for lighting infrastructure maintenance.
- General cleanliness of vehicle holding areas.
- Maintaining safe and compliant parking facilities.
Requirements
CIDB Requirement
- CIDB grading of 1CE or higher is mandatory.
- Contractors below the required grading are not eligible to submit tenders.
Tender Submission Requirements
- Bidders must use the official tender documentation issued by ACSA.
- Submissions must comply with the prescribed tender requirements.
- Sealing, addressing, delivery and assessment procedures must be followed as specified in the tender documentation.
- Late tenders will not be accepted.
