Job Description
The successful candidate will be responsible for managing the department’s asset management and disposal functions. This includes overseeing physical asset verification, asset additions and disposals, donations, asset register management and the disposal of expired pharmaceuticals and medicines.
The position also involves supervising staff, managing resources and ensuring compliance with relevant public-sector legislation, regulations and asset management frameworks.
Key Responsibilities
- Manage quarterly and annual physical asset verifications.
- Manage the addition and disposal of departmental assets.
- Manage donations to and from the Department.
- Maintain and update the Departmental Asset Register.
- Ensure the asset register remains reliable and complete.
- Monitor and support facilities with asset management-related matters.
- Manage the disposal and destruction of expired pharmaceuticals and medicines.
- Manage resources within the component.
- Manage staff within the component.
- Monitor and manage staff performance.
- Manage staff leave within the component.
- Ensure effective implementation of asset management procedures and controls.
Requirements
Qualification
- An undergraduate Bachelor of Commerce (BCom) in Supply Chain Management or an equivalent qualification at NQF Level 7, as recognised by SAQA.
Experience
- Three years’ related financial/asset management experience at supervisory level.
Knowledge
