Job Description
Excellerate JHI is looking for a dynamic and experienced General Manager to lead the overall management and development of assigned retail property assets. The role involves driving performance through strategic planning, operations oversight, tenant relationship management, and financial control to achieve specified growth, profitability, and sustainability objectives. This position is ideal for a property professional with a strong commercial background, a hands-on leadership approach, and a proven track record in managing complex retail environments.
Key Responsibilities

Develop and implement a strategic property plan, including upgrades, renovations, and development to maximise asset value

Conduct annual risk assessments and monthly performance reviews aligned with budgets and industry benchmarks

Oversee the day-to-day operations of retail properties including leasing, marketing, maintenance, and facilities management

Manage and develop tenant relationships, ensuring optimal tenant mix and occupancy
-
Utilize market research and intelligence to drive property marketing strategy

Control capital expenditure for refurbishments and improvements

Oversee and ensure accurate property and lease administration
-
Monitor and resolve tenant account issues with relevant stakeholders

Lead and manage teams, assess staff performance, and provide ongoing mentorship and development

Ensure legal and regulatory compliance in property operations (including commercial/property law, health & safety, etc.)
Minimum Requirements

Minimum of 8 years of relevant property experience

Degree or qualification in Commerce or Property Management

Strong knowledge of commercial/property law

Sound understanding of general accounting principles

Experience in operations/facilities management

In-depth knowledge of retail, commercial, or industrial property fundamentals
