Job Purpose
To lead, coach, and support frontline banking staff in executing the bank’s business strategy. The role focuses on delivering client-centric banking solutions, building long-term client relationships, and driving sustainable sales performance across relevant market segments.
Key Responsibilities
Sales & Client Relationship Management
Ensure the team delivers on all targeted products and services
Lead teams to build and maintain strong relationships with low- to high-value clients
Guide bankers to identify sales opportunities and create client advocates
Improve client service delivery through tailored financial solutions
Manage escalated client complaints to ensure quick resolution
Leadership & People Management
Lead, coach, mentor, and support relationship bankers
Manage staff performance through regular engagement and feedback
Address performance gaps and track corrective actions
Create a collaborative, high-performing team culture
Manage onboarding of new employees
Risk, Compliance & Governance
Ensure compliance with banking risk, credit, and regulatory requirements
Apply credit and risk policies when managing client relationships
Ensure completion of compliance training by self and team
Monitor adherence to systems, processes, and procedures
Operational Excellence
Achieve quality and turnaround standards
Improve team efficiency and effectiveness
Respond to tasks within agreed timelines

Minimum Qualifications
Essential
Matric / Grade 12
Advanced Diploma or National First Degree
Preferred
Degree or Diploma at NQF Level 6–7 in Commerce, Business, or Finance
Regulatory Exam (RE1)
Minimum Experience
7+ years in banking, sales, and people management
3–4 years relationship management experience (retail, commercial, or private banking)
Experience with credit applications and financial analysis
