Job Overview

Job Description
1. Blood Collection and Donor Care
Perform phlebotomy procedures professionally and according to SANBS Standard Operating Procedures.
Ensure donor safety and comfort throughout the donation process.
Undertake basic physical checks/assessments to confirm donor suitability.
Collect blood donations efficiently to meet daily targets.
2. Clinic Preparation and Operations
Assist in the efficient preparation and closure of mobile blood collection clinics.
Set up equipment, supplies, and stations for smooth clinic operations.
Assist with loading and off-loading equipment and materials as required.
Be prepared to work overtime, weekends, and variable hours based on operational needs.
3. Donor Registration and Administration
Conduct donor registration professionally, accurately, and promptly.
Maintain accurate records and documentation of donors and collections.
Perform general administrative duties to support the clinic workflow.
4. Safety, Compliance and Physical Requirements
Ensure compliance with all SANBS procedures, policies, and quality standards.
Maintain professional conduct, appearance, and customer service standards.
Must be able to stand for extended periods and carry loads up to 14 kg.
Must be able to climb stairs when required.

Minimum Requirements
Qualified Phlebotomist
Current HPCSA registration
Current CPR Certificate (renewed as required)
Valid driver’s licence (Code 8 or 10)
Willingness to work overtime, weekends, and variable hours
Ability to stand for long periods and handle physical tasks (up to 14 kg)
