Role Overview
Dis-Chem is seeking an experienced Casual Cashier to support customer service at the point of sale. The role focuses on accurate transaction processing, cash handling, and delivering a world-class shopping experience while adhering to company policies and security procedures.
Key Responsibilities
Process customer transactions using the Dis-Chem operating system.
Handle cash, cards, vouchers, coupons, and loyalty programs securely.
Maintain cash drawer accuracy, secure cash, and follow SOPs.
Adhere to customer service and turnover rate targets.
Handle product exchanges and returns when authorised.
Report complaints, compliments, or suspicious behaviour to management.
Follow all company security and safety policies.
Maintain professional interaction with customers.
Assist in ensuring colleagues and customers are not exposed to risk.
Candidate Requirements
Essential:
Grade 12 / Matric
6 months+ cashier/till experience
Computer literate (MS Office)
Strong numerical and English skills
Basic customer service experience
Reliability and ability to work retail hours
Advantageous:
Knowledge of a third additional language
Reside near the store and have reliable transport
Special Conditions:
South African citizen
