Overview
The Assistant Director: IT and Office Service is a management-level position responsible for overseeing IT, office accommodation, security, and records management operations within the Free State province.
The role ensures efficient administrative support and service delivery in line with government standards and regulations.
Job Description
This position manages office accommodation and maintenance, facilitates security administration, oversees records management services, and monitors ITC equipment functionality.
The Assistant Director ensures operational efficiency, compliance with departmental policies, and effective service delivery.
Key Responsibilities
Office & Facility Management
Manage office accommodation and maintenance operations
Monitor and control damage and loss in office facilities
Ensure proper safety and security procedures
IT & Records Management
Monitor and ensure all ITC equipment is operational
Manage and monitor effective records management services
Ensure compliance with Minimum Information Security Standard and National Archives and Records Service
Administration & Supervision
Facilitate administration of security services in the province
Supervise staff and manage workflow
Implement relevant departmental policies and procedures
Apply Batho Pele principles in service delivery
Minimum Requirements
Relevant 3-year qualification in:
Business Administration / Public Administration / Public Management / Financial Management / Facilities Management / Property Management / Real Estate Management
2 years supervisory experience
2 years functional experience in an administrative environment
Valid driver’s license
Skills & Knowledge
Communication, interpersonal relations, decision-making, problem-solving, presentation, conflict management
Computer literacy
Knowledge of departmental policies, Basic Conditions of Employment Act, Batho Pele principles, archives and records management, safety and security, accommodation procedures
