Overview
The Inspector: Employment Equity is responsible for implementing and monitoring compliance with the Employment Equity Act and related regulations.
The role focuses on inspections, evaluations, technical advice, and programme monitoring to ensure equitable workplace practices in line with legislation.
Job Description
This position conducts assessments, Director-General reviews, re-assessments, and monitoring to evaluate and enforce compliance with the Employment Equity Act.
The Inspector also provides sector-specific technical advice and guidance on Employment Equity programmes and legislation.
Key Responsibilities
Monitoring & Compliance
Implement and monitor programmes and policies under the Employment Equity Act and Regulations
Conduct Director-General reviews, re-assessments, and compliance monitoring
Collect information to evaluate the impact of Employment Equity programmes
Technical Advice & Reporting
Provide technical advice on sector-specific Employment Equity matters
Prepare reports on findings and compliance levels
Advise management on corrective measures and compliance strategies
Stakeholder Engagement
Liaise with internal and external stakeholders regarding Employment Equity compliance
Ensure adherence to public service regulations, corporate governance, and Batho Pele principles
Minimum Requirements
Qualification at NQF Level 6 (SAQA recognised) in:
B-Proc / B-Juris / Labour Law / BCom Law / BA Law / LLB
2 years functional experience in labour inspections and enforcement services
Valid driver’s license
