    Introduction

    The Accelerate Orientation Program is a 1-year entry-level training initiative for youth, forming part of a larger 3-year Accelerate Hospitality Management or Professional Cookery Development Program. Hosted by Marriott International, this immersive training opportunity is aimed at equipping South African youth with practical experience in hotel operations, laying the foundation for a thriving career in hospitality.

    Purpose of the Role

    To provide aspiring hospitality professionals with a hands-on introduction to hotel operations, including work in various departments, with the goal of evaluating their fit for the 3-year Accelerate program.

    Key Responsibilities

    • Rotate through various hotel departments to gain comprehensive insight into operations (Front Office, Housekeeping, F&B, Kitchen, etc.).

    • Deliver excellent guest service by adhering to Marriott standards.

    • Maintain confidentiality, follow company policies, and safeguard company assets.

    • Ensure clean, professional appearance and behaviour at all times.

    • Respond to guest inquiries and service needs efficiently.

    • Cooperate with team members and contribute to a positive work environment.

    • Perform additional duties as assigned by supervisors.

    Minimum Requirements

    • Must be a South African citizen by birth.

    • Age: 18–22 years (must not turn 23 in the year of application).

    • Education:

      • Grade 12 (Matric) certificate or equivalent NQF Level 4 / NCV Level 4 qualification.

      • Passed all 7 subjects (preferably 50% or higher per subject).

      • Candidates currently in Matric may apply with their September results.

    • No post-Matric qualifications allowed (must not hold NQF 5 or higher).

    • Must be able to work flexible shifts (AM, PM, nights).

    • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.

    • Motivated, eager to learn, team-oriented, and passionate about hospitality.
