Minimum Requirements for Application

- Current registration with SANC as a Nursing Assistant.
- Experience Requirements:
- Grade 1: No experience required after registration with SANC for South African qualified employees who have completed Community Service.
- Grade 2: Minimum of 10 years of appropriate/recognisable experience after registration with SANC as a Nursing Assistant or Enrolled Nursing Auxiliary.
- Grade 3: Minimum of 20 years of appropriate/recognisable experience after registration with SANC as a Nursing Assistant or Enrolled Nursing Auxiliary.
Knowledge and Skills Required
To excel in this role, applicants should have the following skills:
- Basic communication skills to interact with patients effectively.
- Ability to work as part of a multidisciplinary healthcare team.

Duties and Responsibilities
As a Nursing Assistant, your role will include, but is not limited to:
1. Assisting Patients with Activities of Daily Living
- Providing physical care, including personal hygiene and grooming.
- Ensuring that patients maintain proper hygiene.
- Assisting patients with nutrition, ensuring they receive adequate meals.
- Supporting mobility, helping patients move safely.
- Assisting patients with elimination processes (toileting and hygiene care).
2. Providing Elementary Clinical Nursing Care
- Measuring, interpreting, and recording patients’ vital signs such as temperature, blood pressure, and pulse.
- Operating and handling relevant medical apparatus and equipment.
- Assisting professional nurses in administering oral medications and other clinical procedures.
- Preparing patients for diagnostic and surgical procedures.
3. Maintaining Ethical and Professional Standards
- Ensuring adherence to the Public Service code of conduct.
- Upholding ethical standards set by the South African Nursing Council (SANC).
