The NTC coordinates and promotes the common national and international tax interests of SAICA members and the profession, provides commentary on tax legislation changes, and supervises 12 specialist tax subcommittees. SAICA seeks to fill one vacancy on the NTC for a Member in Business (MiB) from the Industrial Sector. This member will contribute expertise in taxation within industrial sectors such as Energy, Manufacturing, Mining, Agriculture, Construction, and Transportation.

Responsibilities:
Provide advanced technical expertise in taxation including indirect taxes
Contribute to commentary and final positions on proposed tax legislation and guides
Participate actively in the committee’s work and subcommittee oversight
Engage in media activities and represent SAICA after media training
Write at least one article annually for the IntegriTax Journal
Provide comprehensive input into stakeholder submissions
Requirements:
SAICA member for a minimum of 5 years (preferably over 10)
Minimum 10 years relevant tax experience, including indirect taxes
Minimum 5 years experience in industrial sectors such as Energy, Manufacturing, Oil & Gas, Mining, Agriculture, Construction, Transportation, etc.
Employed in a non-public practice role (i.e., not an auditor or external tax consultant) or shareholder/owner of a non-public practice entity
Demonstrated fairness in stakeholder engagement and task allocation
Relevant qualifications and advanced technical tax knowledge
Commitment to employment equity targets
Established profile and influence in the tax environment
Willingness to actively participate and contribute rigorously
