    Call for Applications: Carbon Tax Subcommittee (2 Vacancies)

    SAICA invites qualified professionals to apply for two vacancies on the Carbon Tax Subcommittee, a working committee of the National Tax Committee (NTC). This opportunity is open to all subject matter specialists, regardless of professional designation or SAICA membership.

    About the Carbon Tax Subcommittee

    As carbon tax regulation evolves globally and locally, SAICA’s Carbon Tax Subcommittee plays a vital role in:

    • Shaping national commentary and positions on carbon taxation,

    • Providing technical leadership in this specialist field,

    • Supporting SAICA’s mission to influence and respond to key environmental tax matters.

    Key Criteria for Selection

    Applications will be assessed on:

    • Technical expertise in carbon tax,

    • At least 5 years of relevant experience (or equivalent experience in related tax areas),

    • Recognised professional qualifications,

    • Industry or practice area exposure relevant to carbon taxation,

    • Credibility and influence in the tax profession,

    • Track record of fairness and collaborative working with stakeholders,

    • Contribution to Employment Equity and diverse geographic representation.

    Member Expectations

    Appointees are expected to:

    • Actively engage in subcommittee activities,

    • Write one article annually for IntegriTax Journal and/or contribute significantly to at least one technical submission,

    • Be open to participating in media engagements (media training will be provided).
