    Manager – Regional Marketing: Commercial Operations SA MTN

    The Regional Brand & Marketing Manager plays a key role in driving the execution of localized brand and marketing strategies within the region. Reporting directly to the Head of Region, the role focuses on delivering Go-To-Market (GTM) activities, trade marketing, sponsorships, events, and customer engagement initiatives aligned with MTN’s national strategic direction. This role bridges strategy and execution across both B2C (prepaid, postpaid, youth, residential, fintech) and B2B (enterprise) segments, ensuring all activities are tailored to the local market dynamics while adhering to the central team’s governance and brand standards.

    Key Responsibilities

     Strategy & Execution

    • Develop and execute localized marketing and GTM strategies for B2C and B2B segments

      The Manager will also be responsible for ensuring that all marketing campaigns reflect the brand’s values and objectives, enhancing customer loyalty.

    • Collaborate with central B&M teams to align regional plans with national objectives

    • Drive media planning, sponsorships, and regional events with compliance to central guidelines

    • Lead implementation of region-specific digital and social media campaigns

    • Identify NPS drivers and deliver improvement plans

    • Ensure full brand governance and compliance

     Regional Marketing Delivery

    • Analyze data on NPS, brand health, and campaign performance to guide decisions

    • Lead the regional marketing team in executing GTM plans and trade marketing activities

      The Manager will guide their team in developing innovative strategies that respond to market changes and customer preferences.

    • Manage execution of regional sponsorships, CSI activations, events, and PR initiatives

      As a Manager, it is vital to prioritize effective communication with stakeholders to ensure alignment and cooperation on various projects.

    • Maintain strong stakeholder relationships across internal teams, media, and community

    • Integrate customer insights into all marketing planning

     Financial Management

    • Manage and optimise regional marketing budgets

    • Monitor campaign expenditure and ROI

    • Identify revenue-generating opportunities within marketing initiatives

    • Oversee cost-effective media planning and buying

     Governance & Compliance

    The Manager will play a key role in upholding governance standards, ensuring that all marketing practices are ethical and compliant with regulations.

    • Implement and maintain brand and policy governance

    • Participate in alignment meetings between central and regional teams

    • Review regional adaptations to ensure alignment with MTN’s national strategy

     Continuous Improvement

    • Stay informed on market trends, competitor activities, and customer behaviour

    • Drive innovation and improvements across all marketing activities

    • Embed a culture of continuous service delivery improvement

     People & Culture

    • Lead, coach, and mentor the regional marketing team

      As a Manager, one must embody leadership qualities that inspire and motivate the team to achieve their best performance.

    • Set KPIs, provide performance feedback, and support skills development

    • Foster a culture of collaboration, inclusion, and high performance

    • Ensure healthy employee relations and implementation of EE targets

    Requirements

    The ideal Manager will have a track record of successful team leadership and a proven ability to foster talent within the organization.

    Education

    • Bachelor’s degree (4-year tertiary qualification) in Marketing, Communications, Business, or related field

    Experience

    • Minimum 5 years in Brand and Marketing

    • Strong experience executing GTM strategies for both B2C and B2B segments

    • Demonstrated success in trade marketing, events, sponsorships, and digital marketing

    • Experience in the telecoms industry or related sector is advantageous

    • Exposure to diverse markets and regions is an asset
