Responsibilities:
Draft legal documents, contracts, and service level agreements
Provide legal opinions and advice on departmental matters
Vet and edit legal agreements to ensure compliance and enforceability
Manage litigation matters, liaising with the State Attorney and State Law Advisors
Represent the Department at legal forums, committees, and meetings
Deliver presentations on relevant legislation and case law affecting the Department
Ensure alignment of departmental operations with constitutional and legislative mandates
Qualifications:
Minimum Qualification:
National Senior Certificate (Matric)
LLB Degree
Experience Requirements:
MR1: No legal experience required (entry-level)
MR2: At least 1 year post-qualification legal experience
MR3: At least 2 years post-qualification legal experience
Knowledge of:
Constitution of South Africa
PFMA (Public Finance Management Act)
PAJA (Promotion of Administrative Justice Act)
PAIA (Promotion of Access to Information Act)
Relevant legal prescripts and legislative frameworks
Skills:
Legal drafting and analysis
Communication (written and verbal)
Project management
Computer literacy
