About the Role
As an I&T Governance Analyst, you will be part of the I&T Governance & Service Transition team, reporting directly to the Head of I&T Governance & Service Transition. This role supports VKB’s Information and Technology department, ensuring effective risk mitigation, compliance monitoring, and alignment of disaster recovery plans with the Group’s business continuity strategies.
You will play a pivotal role in designing and implementing controls, coordinating risk remediation plans, conducting audits, and driving process improvements through simplification and standardization.
Key Responsibilities
- Implement and maintain I&T governance frameworks aligned with international standards and VKB-specific needs.
- Coordinate I&T governance initiatives and monitor compliance with policies.
- Design, implement, and review controls for IT operations and projects, producing evidence for audits.
- Conduct third-party risk and due diligence assessments.
- Support Information Security Awareness, policy training, and disaster recovery alignment with business continuity plans.
- Identify opportunities for improving processes through simplification and standardization.
- Provide support for ad hoc reviews and audits aligned with international standards.
About You
The ideal candidate is a collaborative team player passionate about delivering optimal services in a dynamic environment. You excel under pressure, manage time effectively, and contribute innovative ideas to improve I&T processes.
Minimum Requirements
- Education:
- Bachelor’s degree in Information Technology, Business Studies, Risk Management, or a related field (combination of IT and Commerce subjects preferred).
- Candidates with relevant work experience working toward a Bachelor’s degree will also be considered.
- Certifications (preferred):
- Certified Information Systems Auditor (CISA)
- Certified in Risk and Information Systems Control (CRIC)
- ITIL Foundation / COBIT Foundation
- Experience:
- At least 1 year in agriculture, IT Governance Risk and Compliance, or Information Systems Audit.
- Familiarity with GRC methodologies, tools, and enablers.
- Experience implementing controls aligned with frameworks such as COBIT, ITIL, or ISO.
Skills and Attributes
- Strong knowledge of I&T Governance, Risk, and Compliance frameworks.
- Understanding of security risks and preventive controls.
- Familiarity with regulatory requirements (e.g., PCI DSS, POPIA, GDPR).
- Excellent communication and persuasion skills.
- Ability to map business needs to technology solutions.
- Solid corporate governance principles and technical expertise.
