    Job Purpose

    The internship aims to provide graduates who have successfully completed the Master’s Coursework (M1) in Industrial/Organisational Psychology with supervised practical workplace experience. The internship prepares candidates for registration as an Industrial Psychologist with the Health Professions Council of South Africa.

    This opportunity is only available to South African citizens or permanent residents.

    Job Description

    The successful intern will complete a structured 12-month Industrial Psychology Internship Programme, approved by the HPCSA, while gaining practical experience across several professional areas of Industrial Psychology under supervision.

    Duties and Responsibilities

    • Perform all duties outlined in the approved 12-month Industrial Psychology internship programme.
    • Gain practical experience in Career Psychology and Employee Well-Being.
    • Participate in Organisational Behaviour projects and activities.
    • Assist with Human Resources (Personnel Psychology) functions.
    • Conduct or support Psychometric Testing and Assessments.
    • Complete an approved Elective area of practice.
    • Participate in Professional Development activities and supervision sessions.
    • Apply and uphold Professional Ethics in all workplace activities.

    Minimum Requirements

    Applicants must have:

    • Successfully completed Master’s Coursework (M1) in Industrial/Organisational Psychology.
    • Registration with the HPCSA as a Student Psychologist.
    • Not be studying full-time (classes should preferably be after working hours).
    • Be a South African citizen or permanent resident.

    Selection Criteria

    Applicants must:

    • Be willing to sign an internship agreement with UFS.
    • Be available for the full 12-month internship.

    • Proof of registration with the HPCSA as a Student Psychologist.
