The Bloemfontein campus is now looking for an ICT Support professional to ensure smooth IT operations and assist students and staff with their technological needs.

    Job Purpose

    The ICT Support professional at Rosebank College is responsible for coordinating, planning, and scheduling the daily activities of the ICT support team. The successful candidate will also provide technical and training support services, oversee systems installations, and ensure compliance with security and maintenance protocols. Additionally, the ICT Support professional will assist in diagnosing and resolving system malfunctions, while also mentoring and guiding ICT support staff.

    Duties and Responsibilities

    As an ICT Support professional, your daily tasks will include:

    • Monitoring IT infrastructure (LAN, WLAN, WAN) to ensure optimal performance.
    • Installing and maintaining servers as needed.
    • Coordinating system and infrastructure deployment within the campus.
    • Ensuring security protocols and maintenance procedures such as:
      • Software updates and patching.
      • Bitlocker compliance.
      • Anti-malware compliance.
      • SCO alerts and SCCM compliance.
    • Liaising with vendors and service providers for support and troubleshooting.
    • Ensuring continuous ICT support during operational hours.
    • Supervising ICT support staff, including:
      • Interviewing and hiring new team members.
      • Conducting performance appraisals.
      • Managing leave requests.
      • Providing mentorship and training.
    • Developing succession plans for ICT staff.
    • Diagnosing and troubleshooting hardware and software issues.
    • Documenting and managing service requests to improve future support.
    • Maintaining and administering approved software.
    • Overseeing the ICT Service Desk to ensure efficient allocation and resolution of support tickets.

    Minimum Requirements

    To qualify for the ICT Support Job Opportunity at Rosebank College, you must meet the following criteria:

    • Educational Qualification: 3-Year Diploma (NQF6) in Information Technology.
    • Experience: At least 1 year of experience as an ICT Support/Service Desk Agent.
    • Technical Skills: Knowledge of standard operating systems.
    • Advantage: Experience in an academic setting will be beneficial.
