    Job Description

    The Site Supervisor is responsible for overseeing daily logistics, transport, and fleet operations to ensure efficient service delivery. The role involves supervising drivers, coordinating route planning and vehicle dispatch, monitoring fleet performance, ensuring compliance with safety regulations, and maintaining high operational standards.

    The successful candidate will lead transport operations, manage fleet resources, monitor performance against service level agreements (SLAs), and ensure customer satisfaction through effective operational management.

    Key Responsibilities

    Fleet and Transport Operations

    • Supervise daily logistics and transport activities.
    • Coordinate vehicle dispatch and delivery schedules.
    • Monitor fleet utilisation and vehicle availability.
    • Ensure vehicles are roadworthy and operational.
    • Manage vehicle inspections and maintenance schedules.
    • Oversee fleet control and vehicle tracking systems.
    • Monitor fuel consumption and usage.

    Route Planning and Distribution

    • Plan and coordinate efficient delivery routes.
    • Ensure timely loading and dispatch of vehicles.
    • Monitor delivery schedules and operational performance.
    • Optimise routes to improve efficiency and reduce costs.
    • Ensure deliveries are completed according to operational requirements.

    Driver Supervision and Management

    • Monitor driver attendance and punctuality.
    • Supervise driver performance and productivity.
    • Conduct driver briefings and debriefings.
    • Ensure drivers comply with company policies and procedures.
    • Monitor compliance with safety and operational standards.
    • Support and guide drivers to achieve performance targets.

    Compliance and Safety Management

    • Ensure compliance with transport regulations and company policies.
    • Verify driver licences and operational documentation.
    • Maintain fleet safety standards.

    Reporting and Administration

    Minimum Requirements

    Educational Qualifications

    Essential

    • Grade 12 (Matric)

    Experience

    • Minimum 5 years’ experience in the logistics or transport industry.
    • Minimum 3 years’ experience in a supervisory role.
