Job Description
The Installation Technician is responsible for the installation, configuration, commissioning, maintenance, and repair of electronic security systems. The role involves working with CCTV surveillance systems, alarm systems, access control systems, and related security technologies to ensure clients receive reliable and effective security solutions.
The successful candidate will ensure all installations comply with industry standards, client specifications, and company requirements while maintaining professionalism and high-quality workmanship.
Due to the sensitive nature of security work, candidates must have a clear criminal and credit record.
Key Responsibilities
CCTV Installation
- Install CCTV camera systems.
- Configure and commission CCTV equipment.
- Test system functionality and performance.
- Ensure optimal camera positioning and coverage.
- Provide basic user training to clients where required.
Alarm System Installation
- Install wired and wireless alarm systems.
- Configure alarm control panels and peripherals.
- Ensure installations meet client requirements.
- Test alarm functionality and response systems.
- Conduct commissioning and handover procedures.
Access Control Installation
- Install biometric access control systems.
- Install card access systems.
- Install keypad entry systems.
- Configure user access permissions.
- Test and verify system functionality.
Maintenance and Fault Finding
- Diagnose faults on security systems.
- Repair and maintain installed equipment.
- Perform preventative maintenance inspections.
- Troubleshoot hardware and software issues.
- Ensure systems remain operational and compliant.
Compliance and Quality Assurance
- Ensure installations comply with contractual requirements.
- Adhere to industry standards and regulations.
- Follow company installation procedures.
- Maintain high standards of workmanship and safety.
- Ensure client satisfaction and quality service delivery.
Stock and Equipment Management
- Manage installation materials and equipment.
- Monitor stock usage and availability.
- Account for company-issued tools and resources.
- Maintain accurate stock records.
Documentation and Administration
- Complete job cards accurately.
- Record materials used during installations.
- Obtain customer sign-off upon completion.
- Maintain accurate installation and maintenance records.
- Submit required reports and documentation.

Experience
