Job Overview
Clicks Group is looking for a Pharmacist Assistant – QPB to join its pharmacy team at Clicks Senekal in the Free State.
The successful candidate will be responsible for providing pharmaceutical care services within their scope of practice while supporting the day-to-day administration and operations of the dispensary in accordance with the company’s Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs).
The role requires strong customer service skills, attention to detail, product knowledge and a commitment to accurate and ethical pharmacy practices.
Job Description
The Pharmacist Assistant will assist with pharmaceutical care, dispensary administration, stock management and customer support. The successful candidate will also contribute to maintaining high standards of housekeeping and merchandise presentation within the pharmacy.
Key Responsibilities
- Provide a high standard of customer service and pharmaceutical care.
- Perform pharmaceutical care services within the applicable scope of practice.
- Assist with efficient stock control and dispensary administration.
- Repack medicines accurately where required.
- Perform accurate compounding.
- Provide general health advice within the applicable scope of practice.
- Maintain high standards of housekeeping within the dispensary.
- Ensure merchandise is appropriately displayed.
- Follow company Standard Operating Plans (SOPs).
- Complete ad hoc duties according to operational requirements.
- Ensure compliance with relevant pharmacy legislation and professional requirements.
Minimum Requirements
Applicants must meet the following requirements:
- Matric with Mathematics – essential.
- Meet the Health Professions Council of South Africa (HPCSA) minimum requirements applicable to the relevant level of Pharmacist Assistant.
- Relevant status may include Qualified Pharmacist Assistant, Post Basic Pharmacist Assistant or Learner Basic Pharmacist Assistant, as applicable.
Skills and Knowledge
The ideal candidate should have:
- Product knowledge, particularly in the health aisle and over-the-counter (OTC) products.
- Knowledge of the South African Pharmacy Council (SAPC) requirements and relevant legislation.
- Strong customer service skills.
- Ability to work effectively as part of a team.
- Integrity and ethical working practices.
- Strong accuracy and attention to detail.
- Basic calculation skills.
- Knowledge of IT business operating systems.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office.
