Job Description
The National Transmission Company South Africa (NTCSA), a subsidiary of Eskom, is seeking a Senior Official Non Tech Public Safety to join its Southern Grid Compliance Department in Bloemfontein. The successful candidate will play a key role in promoting public safety by reducing electrical incidents and accidents involving customers, communities, schools, farmers, and farmworkers located near substations and other electrical infrastructure.
The position focuses on delivering public education and awareness programmes, supporting contractors, promoting environmental awareness, and ensuring compliance with safety procedures to minimise risks associated with electricity.
Key Responsibilities
- Conduct public education and awareness programmes on electrical safety.
- Promote awareness of the dangers associated with electricity among communities, schools, farmers, and farmworkers.
- Ensure corrective actions are implemented following identified public safety risks.
- Facilitate the sharing of safety information with relevant stakeholders.
- Promote environmental awareness in line with Eskom and NTCSA standards.
- Provide public safety support and assistance to contractors.
- Liaise with Risk Services regarding public safety matters and incident prevention.
- Monitor compliance with public safety procedures and standards.
- Assist in implementing initiatives aimed at reducing electrical accidents and incidents.
- Prepare reports and maintain accurate records relating to public safety activities.
Minimum Requirements
Qualifications
Applicants must have:
- Grade 12 (Matric), NCV Level 4, NSC3, or N3 qualification.
- A Diploma or Certificate in a relevant field at NQF Level 4 with a minimum of 120 credits.
Experience
- Minimum of 2 years’ experience in a Public Safety role.
Knowledge and Skills

- Electrical safety awareness practices.
