Tender Description
The NHLS is seeking a qualified contractor to trace the source of dampness, repair structural damage, and restore affected walls at Pelonomi Hospital’s Stat Laboratory. The work includes waterproofing, plastering, painting, and possible plumbing repairs.
Scope of Work
- Inspect and diagnose source of dampness
- Trace possible pipe leaks or structural water ingress
- Break and repair floors/walls where necessary
- Repair cracks, mortar joints, and damaged plaster
- Replastering, repainting, and surface finishing
- Apply waterproofing systems and sealants
- Restore surfaces to original condition
- Work in coordination with hospital operations (minimize disruption)
Technical Requirements
- Use ISO 9001 compliant materials and systems
- Comply with SABS-approved materials and standards
- Follow SANS 10142 (where applicable)
- Proper waterproofing and crack repair methods
- Full adherence to Occupational Health & Safety Act (OHSA)
- Provide safety files and insurance documentation
- Work scheduling must avoid disruption to hospital operations
Minimum Requirements
- CIDB grading: 1GB or higher
- Experience in damp proofing and building repairs
- Registered and qualified plumbing professionals (if needed)
- Proven experience in hospital or healthcare environments
- Ability to supply approved construction materials
- References of similar completed projects (last 5 years)
