Job Description
Econofoods is seeking a motivated and results-driven Outbound Sales Representative to drive sales growth, maintain customer relationships, and identify new business opportunities within the food and FMCG sector. The successful candidate will promote Econofoods’ products, develop strong client partnerships, and contribute to the company’s commercial growth objectives.
This role is ideal for a sales professional who enjoys building relationships, identifying opportunities, and working in a fast-paced retail and FMCG environment.
Purpose of the Role
The primary purpose of the position is to:

Key Responsibilities
Customer Relationship Management
- Build and maintain strong relationships with existing and prospective customers.
- Understand customer needs and recommend suitable products.
- Ensure high levels of customer satisfaction and loyalty.
- Maintain regular communication with clients.
Sales and Business Development
- Identify and pursue new business opportunities.
- Generate leads and convert prospects into customers.
- Develop and implement effective sales strategies.
- Expand Econofoods’ market presence.
Product Promotion
- Conduct product presentations and demonstrations.
- Promote Econofoods’ frozen food product range.
- Educate customers on product benefits and offerings.
- Assist customers in selecting products best suited to their needs.
Market Research and Analysis
- Monitor industry trends and customer preferences.
- Track competitor activities and market developments.
- Identify opportunities for growth and product expansion.
- Provide feedback on market conditions and customer demands.
Sales Reporting
- Prepare oral and written sales reports.

- Maintain accurate sales records and pipeline information.
Target Achievement
- Manage and grow the sales pipeline.
- Meet and exceed monthly sales targets.

Minimum Requirements
Qualifications
- Grade 12 (Matric) or equivalent qualification.
Experience
- Minimum of 2 years’ experience in a similar sales role.
- Experience within FMCG Retail is highly preferred.
- Experience in a fast-paced sales environment.
Licensing
- Valid driver’s licence.
Industry Knowledge
- Strong understanding of the South African food industry.
Availability
- Willingness to travel within South Africa.
- Flexibility to work extended or varying hours when required.
