Overview:
We are looking for a qualified Underground Electrician to join our client’s mining operations in the Free State. The ideal candidate will have extensive experience working underground, strong fault-finding and troubleshooting skills, and a solid understanding of mine safety and electrical standards.
Key Responsibilities:
Conduct fault-finding and troubleshoot electrical equipment including conveyors, pumps, fans, drilling rigs, and compressors.
Perform planned maintenance, breakdown repairs, and preventative maintenance to minimize downtime.
Inspect and test electrical distribution systems to ensure safe and reliable operation.
Ensure compliance with Mine Health and Safety Act, SANS electrical standards, and mine-specific procedures.
Report maintenance activities and equipment issues to supervisors.
Requirements:
Grade 12
Electrical Trade Test Certificate
3–5 years of electrician experience in the mining industry
Minimum 3 years of underground mining experience
Valid driver’s license
