Job Overview
A leading mining company is seeking a skilled and experienced Shaft Timberman to support underground shaft operations. The role focuses on installing and maintaining shaft support structures, ensuring the safety and stability of underground workings.
Key Responsibilities

Install, maintain, and repair shaft timbering and support structures

Ensure the safety and stability of underground shafts
-
Assist with shaft maintenance and infrastructure work
-
Conduct inspections to identify and address potential hazards
-
Work closely with mining teams to ensure safe operations
-
Comply with all safety standards and mining regulations
-
Support blasting and underground mining activities where required
Minimum Requirements
-
Senior Certificate (Grade 12)
-
Valid Blasting Certificate
-
Competent A & B Certification
Experience Required
-
Minimum 3 years’ experience as a Miner in a hard rock underground mining environment
-
At least 1 year experience as a Timberman
Key Skills & Competencies
-
Strong knowledge of underground mining safety practices

Experience in shaft support and timber installation

Ability to identify and mitigate underground risks
-
Physically fit and able to work in demanding conditions
-
Team player with good communication skills

Attention to detail and commitment to safety
