Job Overview
We are looking for an experienced Production Team Leader to oversee and coordinate production activities within a chemical manufacturing environment. The role focuses on ensuring safe, efficient, and high-quality production processes while leading and developing a team.
Key Responsibilities
Supervise and coordinate daily production operations
Lead, manage, and develop production staff
Ensure compliance with Process Safety Management (PSM) standards
Monitor production performance and implement improvements
Maintain quality control and ensure adherence to operational procedures
Identify and resolve production issues to minimize downtime
Ensure a safe working environment and enforce safety protocols
Report on production targets, performance, and incidents
Minimum Requirements
Grade 12 (Matric)
Diploma in Chemical Engineering or a related field
Diploma or certificate in First Line Management
Minimum 5 years’ experience in a chemical manufacturing plant
Minimum 3 years’ supervisory experience
Experience with Process Safety Management (PSM)
Key Skills & Competencies
Strong leadership and team management skills
Solid understanding of chemical production processes
Knowledge of safety regulations and compliance standards
Problem-solving and decision-making ability
Good communication and organizational skills
Ability to work under pressure and meet production targets
