Job Overview
The Paralegal / Legal Support role is a high-impact position supporting a complex international business structure operating across multiple jurisdictions including the EU, UAE, South Africa, and Southeast Asia.
This role is suited to an experienced paralegal or legal operations professional with strong exposure to financial services, fintech, and regulatory compliance. The successful candidate will assist with commercial contracting, regulatory compliance, and risk management while working closely with legal counsel, regulators, and financial institutions.
The position requires someone who can operate independently, manage multiple priorities across time zones, and communicate effectively in a fully remote, fast-paced international environment.
Key Responsibilities
1. Contract Management
Conduct first-pass reviews of cross-border commercial agreements, including vendor, banking, and payment service provider (PSP) contracts.
Coordinate contract execution and maintain organized records across multiple group entities.
Track key contract terms and ensure compliance with contractual obligations.
Support negotiations by identifying legal and commercial risks and escalating them to legal counsel.
Ensure contractual standards remain consistent across different jurisdictions.
2. Regulatory & Compliance Support
Assist with AML (Anti-Money Laundering), KYC (Know Your Customer), sanctions screening, and financial crime compliance processes.
Support regulatory filings, licensing applications, and ongoing compliance submissions.
Manage due diligence and onboarding processes for banks, PSPs, and strategic counterparties.
Conduct legal research related to financial regulations.
Provide insights into foreign exchange (FX) regulatory frameworks.
3. Risk Management & Operational Support
Support the implementation of group-wide legal and compliance policies.
Liaise with external legal counsel, regulators, and service providers.
Translate complex legal and regulatory requirements into practical guidance for internal teams.
Track regulatory obligations and ensure timely compliance across jurisdictions.
Required Skills & Competencies
Strong exposure to financial services, fintech, FX, or cryptocurrency environments.
Experience with commercial contracts and contract lifecycle management.
Knowledge of AML, KYC, sanctions, and financial regulatory compliance.
Experience working with banks, payment service providers (PSPs), or regulated financial institutions.
Ability to work independently while managing multiple priorities across global time zones.
Strong communication skills for remote collaboration with international teams.
Strong research, analytical, and problem-solving abilities.
Qualifications & Experience
5–7 years of relevant experience in paralegal, legal operations, or regulatory compliance roles.
Experience working with multi-entity or cross-border corporate structures.
Law degree preferred but not mandatory if relevant experience is demonstrated.
