Morgan Advanced Materials is seeking a Semiskilled Maintenance Technician to support the maintenance and repair of machinery and equipment within the production environment. The role involves performing scheduled maintenance, assisting with machine overhauls, diagnosing equipment issues, and ensuring machinery operates efficiently to minimize downtime.
The successful candidate will work closely with the Maintenance Supervisor, ensuring compliance with safety standards while maintaining high production quality. This role requires strong mechanical skills, attention to detail, and the ability to work effectively in a fast-paced industrial environment.

Key Responsibilities
Maintenance & Equipment Support
Perform routine inspections of machines and equipment and report findings.
Assist with the overhaul of units in the workshop as instructed by the Maintenance Supervisor.
Carry out scheduled and allocated maintenance tasks.
Diagnose machine faults and report problems to the supervisor.
Replace damaged or defective structural components when required.
Maintain machinery through basic maintenance activities such as lubrication and cleaning.
Machine Operation & Production Support
Operate machinery including polishing and grinding equipment.
Grind metal workpieces to prescribed specifications.
Inspect machines and workpieces to ensure compliance with quality standards.
Stop machinery immediately if problems occur and make necessary adjustments to reduce downtime.
Finish products using hand tools to ensure proper surface finishing.
Workshop & Technical Tasks
Fit parts into machinery using tools to cut, file, plane, bore, and drill metal.
Set up machines and maintain proper housekeeping in the work area.
Ensure grinding wheels are dressed according to machine specifications.
Perform grinding tasks including:
Measuring brush dimensions (width, length, thickness)
Grinding components to required specifications
Performing chamfering and radius adjustments
Submit finished components to inspectors for quality approval.
Safety & Compliance
Follow all safety protocols when operating machinery.
Wear appropriate Personal Protective Equipment (PPE).
Report potential hazards or safety concerns to supervisors.
Ensure the workplace remains clean and safe at all times.
Administrative & Operational Duties
Maintain and update the T-card maintenance tracking system.
Inform supervisors about required consumables or parts that need ordering.
Use downtime productively for training and implementing best practices.
Perform any additional reasonable duties assigned by management.
Minimum Requirements
Education: Grade 10–12 or equivalent qualification.
Experience: 2–3 years of relevant work experience in maintenance or mechanical environments.
Ability to interpret technical drawings and use hand tools effectively.
Practical skills in equipment maintenance and repair.
Strong problem-solving and decision-making abilities.
Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
Strong attention to detail in a fast-paced production environment.
