    JOB DETAILS

     PURPOSE OF THE ROLE

    To provide efficient and accurate administrative support in the Financial Aid unit, ensuring the proper management, processing, and disbursement of student funding such as bursaries and loans, while delivering high-quality service to students and stakeholders.

     KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

     Financial Aid Administration

    • Administer, process, and monitor student loans and bursaries
    • Calculate and adjust funding allocations
    • Allocate book, meal, transport, and accommodation allowances

     NSFAS & Funding Processes

    • Prepare and submit required templates to NSFAS
    • Assist students with applications and agreements
    • Attend NSFAS workshops and provide feedback

     Financial Processing

    • Process refund requests accurately and timeously
    • Manage financial records and ensure compliance with policies

     Student & Stakeholder Support

    • Respond to enquiries from:
      • Students
      • Parents/guardians
      • Landlords
      • Donors
    • Provide guidance on financial aid processes

     Administration & Coordination

    • Perform general office administration duties
    • Send official communications (SMS and email)
    • Assist in coordinating donor visits and engagements
    • Participate in meetings and contribute to team objectives

     REQUIRED COMPETENCIES

    MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS

    • Bachelor’s degree / Advanced Diploma (NQF Level 7) in Finance or Accounting
    • Minimum of 2 years’ relevant financial experience

     ADVANTAGEOUS

    • Knowledge of PeopleSoft
    • Experience in higher education financial aid
    • Familiarity with NSFAS policies and processes
