    Job Description

    FNB is seeking an experienced Estates Administrator to join its Estates Specialist team in Bloemfontein. The successful candidate will be responsible for the professional and efficient administration of deceased estates from start to finish, ensuring compliance with the Administration of Estates Act 66 of 1965 and other applicable legislation.

    This role requires a legal professional with strong analytical skills and experience in fiduciary services who can manage complex deceased estates, provide exceptional client service, and ensure all legal, financial, and compliance requirements are met.

    Key Responsibilities

    • Independently manage the end-to-end administration of complex deceased estates.
    • Ensure all estate administration is completed in accordance with the Administration of Estates Act 66 of 1965 and other relevant legislation.
    • Handle and resolve escalated estate matters efficiently and professionally.
    • Analyse and resolve legal and administrative complexities arising during estate administration.
    • Apply knowledge of business entities, estate duty, capital gains tax, and income tax relating to deceased estates.
    • Ensure compliance with fiduciary risk management and regulatory requirements.
    • Maintain accurate estate records and documentation.
    • Communicate professionally with clients, beneficiaries, legal representatives, and other stakeholders.
    • Deliver efficient estate administration while meeting financial and service delivery targets.
    • Collaborate with colleagues and contribute to a high-performing Estates Specialist team.

    Minimum Requirements

    Applicants should meet the following requirements:

    • Bachelor of Laws (LLB) degree (essential).
    • Minimum of 3 years’ experience administering deceased estates within a fiduciary environment.
    • Sound knowledge of the Administration of Estates Act 66 of 1965.
    • Strong understanding of:
      • Deceased estate administration
      • Estate Duty
      • Capital Gains Tax
      • Income Tax relating to deceased estates
      • Business entities
    • Knowledge of fiduciary risk management and compliance requirements.
    • Excellent analytical and problem-solving abilities.
    • Strong customer service and communication skills.
    • Ability to manage complex estate matters independently.
