JOB DESCRIPTION
The Driver is responsible for the safe and timely delivery and collection of automotive goods, ensuring all company procedures are followed. The role requires maintaining vehicle safety, accurate documentation, and excellent customer service during deliveries.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
Delivery Operations
- Deliver parcels and goods to customers according to scheduled routes
- Ensure all deliveries are completed accurately and on time
- Collect goods and documents as per trip sheet instructions
Loading & Dispatch Procedures
- Check parcels with supervisor before loading
- Follow correct dispatch loading procedures
- Ensure no stock transfers between customer shops
Documentation & Proof of Delivery (POD)
- Ensure customers sign PODs correctly
- Collect and return all delivery documents and slips
- Submit completed trip sheets daily to POD clerk
- Take responsibility for any missing PODs or documentation
Vehicle Management
- Conduct daily vehicle inspection before and after trips
- Report any vehicle issues immediately to the Dispatch Supervisor
- Maintain cleanliness and safety of the vehicle
Compliance & Reporting
- Report delivery issues immediately
- Follow RFC (Return for Credit) procedures
- Adhere strictly to company delivery policies
REQUIREMENTS
Qualifications
- Grade 12 (Matric)
Experience
- Minimum 3 years delivery driving experience
Licenses
- Valid driver’s licence
- PDP (Professional Driving Permit) – Essential
