     Purpose of the Role

    To provide general accounting and financial reporting support within the Finance Department by managing the general ledger, ensuring accurate financial records, and supporting audits, tax, and compliance processes.

     Key Duties and Responsibilities

    General Ledger & Accounting Operations

    • Capture financial transactions, including journal entries up to trial balance
    • Maintain accurate and complete general ledger records
    • Support month-end and year-end closing processes

    Financial Reporting & Analysis

    • Provide explanations and analysis of posted entries to management accountants
    • Assist in financial data interpretation and reporting

    Reconciliations & Compliance

    • Perform balance sheet reconciliations
    • Maintain the fixed asset register
    • Ensure compliance with accounting standards and internal controls

    Tax & Regulatory Support

    • Prepare schedules for annual tax returns
    • Compile and submit monthly VAT returns

    Audit Support

    • Assist with external audit processes
    • Provide required financial documentation and explanations

    Treasury & Backup Functions

    • Provide backup support for treasury functions
    • Assist with general finance transactional accounting

     Minimum Requirements

    • Bachelor’s Degree or Advanced Diploma in:
      • BCom Accounting or relevant Accounting qualification
    • 2–3 years’ experience in a similar accounting role

     Functional Skills Required

    • Advanced MS Excel skills
    • Basic knowledge of ERP systems
    • Experience with VAT returns
    • Strong accounting and reconciliation skills
