Position Summary:

The Chef will lead and manage all aspects of food production within Empact Group’s Bloemfontein operations. This includes developing menus, establishing recipes and purchase specifications, supervising kitchen staff, and ensuring smooth, high-quality food production in a fast-paced environment. The role also supports the strategic and daily operational management of the kitchen and catering activities.

Key Responsibilities:

• Develop and plan menus that align with operational goals and customer preferences.

• Establish recipes and food purchase specifications.

• Coordinate, execute, supervise, and evaluate all food production activities.

• Ensure operations comply with budgetary guidelines while maintaining quality and efficiency.

• Assist in the management of both strategic and day-to-day operational tasks.

Requirements:

• Relevant tertiary qualification in Food & Beverage Services or Culinary Arts.

• Minimum 5 years of progressive experience in culinary/kitchen management.

• Proven experience working within budgets and delivering operational results.

• Knowledge of catering environments ranging from fine dining to restaurant operations.

• Understanding of South African food legislation and industry-specific regulations.

• Strong financial acumen, with experience in budgeting and food cost control.
