    Job Overview

    The successful candidate will participate in a structured Graduate Internship Programme within the Free State Provincial Treasury.

    The programme is designed to provide practical workplace experience aligned with the intern’s qualification and assigned area of work. Through on-the-job training, workplace learning and professional development, the intern will have an opportunity to apply academic knowledge in a practical environment.

    The programme will also expose the successful candidate to relevant departmental processes, systems and procedures while developing the skills needed to enter the formal labour market.

    As part of the Graduate Internship Programme, the successful candidate will:

    • Gain practical workplace experience relevant to their qualification.
    • Participate in structured on-the-job training.
    • Gain exposure to departmental processes, systems and procedures.
    • Apply academic knowledge in a practical work environment.
    • Develop professional and workplace skills.
    • Participate in workplace learning and professional development.
    • Gain exposure to the public-sector working environment.
    • Enhance their employability and preparedness for entry into the formal labour market.

    Minimum Requirements

    Applicants must meet the following requirements:

    • A Degree in Law (LLB) or BCom Law, or an equivalent recognised qualification.
    • Applicants must have successfully completed their qualification.
    • Where a qualification certificate has not yet been issued, applicants must submit:
      • An official academic transcript; and
      • A letter from the relevant institution confirming successful completion of their studies.

    Important Internship Eligibility Requirements

    Applicants must take note of the following conditions:

    • Applicants who have previously participated in any internship programme will not be considered.
    • Applicants must disclose any previous participation in an internship programme.
    • Should it be discovered during the recruitment process or after appointment that an applicant previously participated in an internship programme and failed to disclose this information, the internship contract will be terminated with immediate effect.

    Preference

    Preference will be given to eligible youth applicants who are residents of the Free State Province, provided that they meet all the prescribed minimum requirements for the Graduate Internship Programme.
