Purpose of the Position
The IT Lecturer – Hardware is responsible for delivering high-quality teaching and learning in Information Technology modules, supporting student success, preparing assessments, and contributing to academic administration and quality assurance activities within the faculty.
The role combines lecturing, student support, curriculum delivery, assessment management, and academic administration.
Key Responsibilities
Teaching and Learning
- Present and facilitate Information Technology modules.
- Deliver lectures in both theoretical and practical components.
- Create an engaging learning environment that promotes student participation.
- Support students in understanding technical concepts and industry applications.
- Monitor student academic progress and provide guidance where necessary.
Modules to be Lectured
The successful candidate may be required to lecture one or more of the following:
- C# Programming
- Database Management (MySQL and SQL)
- Mathematics for IT
- Data Science using Python
- Security+
- A+ Certification Content
- Network+
- PenTest+ (Penetration Testing)
Assessment and Academic Support
- Develop assessments, tests, assignments, and examinations.
- Mark and moderate assessments.
- Provide constructive feedback to students.
- Track academic performance and identify at-risk students.
- Implement intervention strategies to improve student success rates.
Learning Material Development
- Prepare lecture notes and study guides.
- Develop additional learning resources.
- Update academic content to align with industry developments and curriculum requirements.
- Support continuous improvement of teaching materials.
Quality Assurance
- Ensure compliance with institutional academic standards.
- Participate in quality assurance and moderation processes.
- Maintain accurate academic records and documentation.
- Adhere to Eduvos policies and higher education regulations.
Academic Administration
- Perform departmental administrative duties.
- Attend faculty meetings and academic activities.
- Submit reports and student records within required deadlines.
- Support departmental projects and initiatives.
Minimum Requirements
Qualifications
- Master’s Degree in:
- Computer Science, or
- Information Technology
Experience
- 1–2 years of lecturing experience or relevant teaching experience.
- Relevant research experience.
- Knowledge of higher education systems, policies, and academic processes.
