    Job Overview

    The Department of Justice and Constitutional Development is seeking highly experienced legal professionals to fill three Master of the High Court positions. This senior management role is responsible for overseeing the administration of deceased estates, trusts, insolvencies, curatorships, and the Guardian’s Fund while ensuring compliance with applicable legislation and delivering efficient public services.

    The successful candidate will provide strategic leadership, manage operational performance, and ensure the effective administration of the Office of the Master of the High Court.

    Key Responsibilities

    The successful candidate will be responsible for:

    • Managing and overseeing the administration of the Guardian’s Fund.
    • Supervising the administration of Deceased Estates.
    • Managing Curatorship matters and the registration of Trusts.
    • Overseeing the administration of Insolvencies.
    • Monitoring and managing service point operations.
    • Ensuring compliance with all relevant legislation and departmental policies.
    • Managing human resources, financial resources, and operational assets.
    • Providing strategic leadership and improving service delivery.
    • Ensuring effective governance, accountability, and operational efficiency within the office.

    Minimum Requirements

    Applicants must have:

    • An NQF Level 7 qualification in Law (LLB) or an equivalent legal qualification recognised by SAQA.
    • A minimum of five (5) years’ experience at middle or senior management level.
    • Admission as an Attorney or Advocate with the right of appearance in the High Court.

    Knowledge Requirements

    Applicants should have sound knowledge of:
