- Position: Executive – SME Central Region
- Employment Type: Full-Time (Hybrid)
- Business Unit: Business Banking
PURPOSE OF THE ROLE
To lead and execute the SME (Small and Medium Enterprise) business strategy across the Central Region (Free State, Northern Cape, North West), driving revenue growth, profitability, and client engagement while leading high-performing teams and delivering integrated financial solutions.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
Strategic Leadership
- Define and implement the regional SME strategy
- Align regional plans with group and business banking objectives
- Translate strategy into measurable business outcomes
Financial & Commercial Performance
- Own full profit and loss (P&L) responsibility
- Drive revenue growth, profitability, and portfolio quality
- Monitor performance and implement corrective actions
Client Relationship Management
- Build and maintain strong SME client relationships
- Deliver client-centric financial solutions, including:
- Lending
- Transactional banking
- Working capital solutions
- Investment services
Leadership & Team Management
- Lead and inspire regional SME teams
- Foster a culture of performance, accountability, and inclusion
- Develop leadership capability within teams
Cross-Functional Collaboration
- Work closely with:
- Credit
- Risk
- Product
- Operations teams
- Ensure seamless service delivery and client outcomes
Performance Management
- Track and report on key performance indicators (KPIs)
- Drive execution excellence and continuous improvement
MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS
- Honours Degree in:
- Business
- Commerce
- Management
- MBA (highly preferred)
EXPERIENCE REQUIRED
- 15+ years’ experience in financial services (commercial/sales environment)
- At least 5 years at executive level
- Proven experience:
- Leading large teams
- Managing P&L
- Driving business growth
