JOB DESCRIPTION
This role focuses on collecting blood and non-blood specimens for medical testing, while ensuring:
- Accuracy in sample collection
- Patient safety and comfort
- High-quality diagnostic support
You play a direct role in patient care and diagnosis, making this both a technical and people-focused healthcare role.
RESPONSIBILITIES
Specimen Collection
- Perform blood draws (phlebotomy) safely and accurately
- Collect non-blood samples where required
- Follow strict medical and safety procedures
Patient Interaction & Care
- Communicate clearly and compassionately with patients
- Create a comfortable and professional experience
- Build trust during procedures
Administration & Data Handling
- Accurately capture patient information
- Use digital systems for records and reporting
- Handle payments where required
Quality & Safety
- Follow healthcare regulations and hygiene standards
- Ensure correct labelling and handling of specimens
- Maintain high standards of accuracy to support diagnoses
Brand Representation

REQUIREMENTS
Qualifications
- Qualification in:
- Phlebotomy OR
- Nursing
Registration
- Must be registered with:
- Health Professions Council of South Africa (HPCSA), OR
- South African Nursing Council (SANC)
Experience
- Minimum 1 year experience as a phlebotomist or similar role
Other Requirements
- Valid Code B driver’s licence
- Ability to drive a manual vehicle
- Willingness to work weekends
